Dreamhaven and developer Moonshot Games have revealed a deluxe Renegade Edition for Wildgate. Wildgate, a spaceship, team-based PvPvE extraction shooter, is launching July 22 ($29.99).
The Wildgate Renegade Edition ($49.99) includes 17 exclusive skins for characters, ships, and items:
- Seven prospector outfits (Adrian, Ion, Kae, Morph, Sal, Sammo, Venture)
- Four unique ship styles (Bastion, Hunter, Privateer, Scout)
- One helm style
- One probe style
- One probe station style
- One processor style
- One reactor style
- One turret style
I’m not sure 17 skins is worth $20 bucks, but they do look admittedly cool, adopting a blood red theme. Players can also purchase the Renegade Pack separately at any time.
Though the Renegade Edition (or Pack) comes with all the skins, players still need to unlock additional prospectors and ship styles through gameplay progression. At the beginning, players only have access to three prospectors (Adrian, Kae, Venture), and one ship style (Hunter).
Wildgate recently wrapped up a limited Open Beta, ascending to the number two spot of the top 50 most played games on Steam, and appearing on over 500,000 wishlists. That certainly bodes well for an online game! I enjoyed my time with the closed beta earlier this year.
Wildgate will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 22. Though it’s a paid game, the developers pledge to seasonal updates, patches, and new content. The 2025 roadmap promises bi-weekly updates and major seasonal content drops.
