Indie publisher Mythwright and Indie developer Pumpernickel Studio have released Touch Type Tale – Strategic Typing on Steam PC ($19.99). It’s currently available at a 25% discount ($14.99).

Described as the “ultimate typing strategy game,” Touch Type Tale is a real time strategy game that’s controlled solely with a keyboard. By typing words and prompts with their trusty typewriter, players will mine resources, construct buildings, and move armies.

Typing minigames include cooking, shooting gallery, and rhythm games. Players can unlock magical spells with the Ink Factory, battle with armies in tactical combat, and conquer the kingdom of Minsteria.

The single player campaign, starring young wizard apprentice Paul, is narrated by Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent (Paddington).

Touch Type Tale also supports online multiplayer, unique Twitch chat integration, five difficulty levels, and 13 languages. Multiple difficulties allow players to improve their speed and accuracy, while earning greater rewards.

I’m always in favor of good-quality typing games, and a typing-strategy game is a unique idea.

A free demo is available on Steam, and includes four single player missions, and four online multiplayer maps. A Deluxe Edition ($23.95, on sale for $15.79) includes the original soundtrack and some hand-drawn wallpapers.
