During the PlayStation State of Play, Gungho Online Entertainment announced the Lunar Remastered Collection, releasing Spring 2025 on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.

The Lunar Remastered Collection includes Lunar: The Silver Star, and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. The RPGs initially released in 1992 and 1994 on the Sega CD and helped popular the entire concept of a JRPG, including anime cutscenes and classic hero’s journey stories within a fantastical world.

Both games were previously remade for the Sega Saturn (in Japan), and the original PlayStation (in the US) in 1999 and 2000. It’s these enhanced versions of the games that are getting the remaster treatment. So it’s a remaster of a remake!

The remasters add widescreen support, improved pixel art, HD cutscenes, and new English voice acting. Quality of life improvements include an option to speed up battles, as well as “improved strategy settings.”

Like many remasters, players can also swap between the remastered visuals, or the original style.

The Lunar Remastered Collection is rated T for Teen with Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Suggestive Themes, Partial Nudity, Mild Language, and Alcohol. I’m uh, pretty sure the opening scene from Enteral Blue is the first time I saw a naked body as a pre-teen in the early 90s!
