Warner Bros. Games revealed the new characters coming to MultiVersus Season 3: Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice. It’s the Powerpuff Girls, and it’s about dang time!
The Powerpuff Girls will arrive when Season 3 begins on September 17. The mid-season newcomer is Nubia, Queen of the Amazons and close friend of Wonder Woman, from DC Comics.
All three Powerpuff Girls enter MultiVersus as a single Assassin unit. Their attacks represent their perfect teamwork and high-flying skills. They take turns as the “leader,” which determines which special moves they use.
Nubia’s class and gameplay has not yet be revealed.
The new season also adds several alternate costumes for the girls, including the gender bent Rowdyruff Boys, along with the City of Townsville map. Season 3 also adds another new map, Midnight Showing. Midnight Showing is inspired by the Gremlins film, and gives Gizmo and Stripe a home turf.
MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighter, similar to Super Smash Bros. It utilizes an assortment of WB franchises and characters from horror movie slashers to DC superheroes and children’s animated series. It features 1v1 and 2v2 online matches (with crossplay), as well as single player and co-op PvE Rifts. Microtransactions include purchasing characters, skins, and the premium battle pass.
WB Games recently acquired MultiVersus developer Player First Games.
MultiVersus is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s rated T for Teen.
