Giants Software has released a free DLC update for Farming Simulator Kids — mostly. The Forestry Pack DLC is free on Nintendo Switch, but available as an in-app purchase on mobile platforms.

On the other hand, the mobile version of the base game is way cheaper ($29.99 on Switch – ouch)!

The Forestry Pack adds a new forest environment, and lots of friendly squirrels to roast marshmallows with. That’s my kind of farming!

Kids can hang out in their treehouse or tent, operate officially licensed farming vehicles (John Deere), and learn about woodworking. The game also teaches sustainable foresting, and the importance of wood as a renewable resource.

The Farming Simulator series has been around for years, with a dedicated fanbase and authentic gameplay experience. The next big release is Farming Simulator 25, launching this November, adding buffalo farm animals, and an Asian-themed map.

Farming Simulator Kids is a recent spinoff that launched late last year. It uses a much different visual style and gameplay experience, designed for younger children. Kids will explore the farmland, plant and harvest crops, and care for farm animals such as pigs, chickens, goats, and sheep.

Farming Simulator Kids is available on Nintendo Switch, and iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s rated E for Everyone.
