Dotemu has announced that fan-favorite supporting character Usagi Yojimbo will join the roster of playable fighters with the upcoming Dimension Shellshock DLC for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Usagi, a rabbit samurai, is originally a crossover character to the world of TMNT. He’s from a long-running comic Japanese comic series of the same name (where his character name is actually Miyamoto Usagi). The anthropomorphic warrior fits right in with the world of the turtles.

The reveal trailer above teases new game modes, new color swaps, as well as new characters, with an “s”. Usagi has been the only confirmed addition so far. In the weeks and months leading up to Shredder’s Revenge’s release, Dotemu trickled out new character reveals, so expect the same here.

Given the addition of ancient Japan, perhaps the DLC will send the turtles (and friends) through different eras, as in the 1992 beat ’em up, Turtles in Time.

Shredder’s Revenge released last year as a spiritual successor to the excellent turtles beat ’em ups of the 80s and 90s, and based on the original cartoon series.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is available on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated E10+. Dimension Shellshock DLC will release later this year.
