During the Street Fighter 6 Showcase digital event, Capcom revealed a lot of features and gameplay for the upcoming fighting game, including the announcement of a demo ahead of the full release.
The Showcase showed off the World tour single player campaign. Players create their own custom avatar as they explore Metro City and other locations. The custom fighter can become students of any of the 18 fighters, gaining their style and special moves.
World Tour includes many RPG elements, such as increasing bonds with masters and unlocking cutscenes. Avatars also level up, spend skill points, and customize their move set.
Custom avatars from World Tour can also be used to battle other players online with the Battle Hub, creating unique matchups between custom fighters.
Street Fighters 6 also includes a classic single player Arcade Mode, where players can unlock new illustrations and compete in online leaderboards.
Capcom also revealed the first group of post-launch DLC characters, called Year 1: Rashid (Summer 2023), A.K.I. (Fall 2023), Ed (Winter 2024), and Akuma (Spring 2024). All four will also be available as masters in world Tour. Year 1 is included in the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Street Fighter 6.
The Street Fighter 6 demo is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and arriving on PC and Xbox Series X/S on April 26. The demo includes the tutorial, and features Luke and Ryu in the Character Guide.
The demo also includes the “first few moments” of the World Tour, which mostly sounds like playing around with the avatar character creation. Custom avatars can be transferred to the full game on the same platform.
Street Fighter 6 will release on June 2 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s rated T for Teen.
