Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated games of the year, yet it’s a little confusing on when it’s actually launching. Hogwarts Legacy has a staggered release due to delays to last-gen and Switch versions of the game.
The first players to play the big-budget wizarding adventure are purchasers of the Deluxe Edition for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S ($79.99). The Deluxe Edition includes several in-game goodies, including the Dark Arts Pack, as well as 72 hours early access. The early access will allow these players to play as early as Feb. 7.
The Deluxe Edition is also available on other platforms, but does not include early access.
The Standard edition for Hogwarts Legacy will be available on Feb. 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Last-gen owners will have to wait a bit longer. Hogwarts Legacy will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 4, in both Standard and Deluxe Edition options.
Finally, Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Switch, but Switch owners will have to wait significantly longer for its arrival on July 25.
To recap:
- Feb. 7 – Deluxe Edition early access – PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S only
- Feb. 10 – Standard Edition, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- April 4 – Standard and Deluxe Edition, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
- July 25 – Standard and Deluxe Edition, Switch
Hogwarts Legacy is an original story that takes place over 100 years before the events of the original Harry Potter books and films. Players create their own young witch or wizard and attend the famous school of magic. They brew potions, take classes, master spells, and explore the campus and surrounding areas.
Hogwarts Legacy is rated T for Teen with fantasy violence, blood, mild language, and alcohol use.
