Frontier Developments has announced the ninth (!) animal DLC pack for Planet Zoo. The Wetlands Animal Pack adds eight more animals when it arrives on April 12 on Steam ($9.99).

The new animals are inspired by the wetlands and river-soaked grasslands found around the world.

Wetlands Animal Pack includes the following:

  • Asian Small Clawed Otter
  • Capybara
  • Nile Lechwe
  • Platypus
  • Red-Crowned Crane
  • Spectacled Caiman
  • Wild Water Buffalo
  • Danube Crested Newt (exhibit animal)

These water-lovers include new animations, such as the Otter’s deep-water hunting, and the bathing Capybara.

Like other animal packs, the Wetlands Animal Pack also includes a new timed scenario. The scenario is set in the world’s largest wetlands region in Brazil. Players will need to care for new arrivals as they run the animal sanctuary’s rescue efforts, while educating and entertaining guests.

When the DLC arrives, the base game will receive a free update for all players. Improvements and additions coming in the 1.9 update include extra customization for exhibit water, a roaming educator, and the ability to walk around your zoo at guest-height with Explore Cam. The full range of new features coming in 1.9 can be found here.

The Wetlands Animal Pack will be available April 12. Planet Zoo is rated E10+.
