Kalypso Media and developer Realmforge Studios have announced the release date for the Switch version of Spacebase Startopia: September 24. It’s currently available for pre-order for 10% off ($44.99).

Spacebase Startopia is a real-time strategy game that’s less about waging war with armies and more about managing an interstellar space station full of aliens. The ring-shaped space station features three different decks, including a hydroponic deck for growing alien plants, and a fun deck for entertainment. As the station commander, you’ll build rooms and facilities for the arriving aliens, keeping them healthy, happy, and safe, while enemies try to sabotage your station.

A 10-mission campaign mode features a story of becoming the premiere space station destination in the galaxy, while a sandbox mode features freeform customization.

Spacebase Startopia is a spiritual successor to the 2001 strategy sim, Startopia. While the original was a well-regarded sci-fi management sim, this sequel/remake not so much, garnering a partly 64 average critic rating on OpenCritic.

Spacebase Startopia will release on Switch on September 24. It’s also available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s rated E10+.
