Street Fighter 5 released five years ago, and Capcom is celebrating the fifth anniversary with its fifth and final season, adding new character Dan Hibiki, V-Shifts, and a new training stage.

Dan Hibiki was last seen in Street Fighter 4 as a frequent partner to Ryu and Ken, and wields the Master of Saikyo fighting style. Dan can be purchased as part of the Season 5 Character Pass or Premium Pass, or separately for $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money.

The new V-Shift battle mechanic provides new defensive options. With the right timing, players can expend one bar of V-Gauge to execute an invincible  backdash that actually slows time for a short period. A useful way to get out of a bad situation.

The new training stage is called The Grid Alternative. The stage, V-Shift, and new balance improvements are all free updates for Street Fighter 5.

Season five will continue throughout the year with four more characters. Rose is coming this spring, with Oro and Akira arriving later this summer. The final character has yet to be announced, but they are scheduled to arrive in the fall. A total of 26 costumes and two stages are also coming with Season Five, including character-themed stages for Rose and Akira.

Street Fighter 5 is available on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4 in both standard and Champion Edition, which includes all post-launch content. The Champion Edition is currently on sale for 33% off on the PlayStation store. The base game is on sale on Steam for 60% off.

Street Fighter 5 is rated T for Teen.
