First there was Castlevania, and there was much rejoicing. No really, the animated Netflix series is pretty darn cool, and has been renewed for a fourth season. Netflix and Valve have announced the newest game to get adapted to the streaming service: Dota 2.

The series stars Davion the Dragon Knight, one of the many heroes from Dota 2. Here’s the official description:
“The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”
In the game, Davion’s ultimate ability is to transforms into a powerful dragon form. Perhaps this is a prequel where Davion gains that ability? Princess Mirana, mentioned in the description, is also a Dota 2 hero, able to fire arrows while she rides her tiger mount.
Ashley Edward Miller is the showrunner, whose credits include Black Sails, X-Men: First Class, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The eight episode series will be animated by Studio MIR in South Korea (The Legend of Korra).
Dota 2 is the second most popular online battle arena game behind League of Legends. It was developed by IceFrog, the designer of the original Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the Ancients that spawned the entire subgenre, and published by Valve in 2013.
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will premiere on Netflix on March 25.
