Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases April 10, but its release is heavily impacted by the global pandemic of COVID-19. With the closure of physical stores such as GameStop and the general logistical problems with the pandemic, many physical editions may not ship on time.
To try and get ahead of any launch woes, Square Enix has announced they are shipping Final Fantasy 7 Remake “far earlier than usual to Europe and Australia.” The US copies are being shipped this week and Square Enix is “optimistic that most of you will receive the game for launch day.”
Square Enix is unable to provide exact dates on when each region will receive the game. As part of the announcement, they have a message for fans not to spoil the game before the official launch day of April 10.
If you get the game early, please think of others and don’t spoil it for them. We know there are potential spoilers that have been out there for over two decades as the original Final Fantasy 7 was released in 1997. But Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a new game that still has many surprises for everyone. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a big-budget remake of the seminal 90s console RPG, focusing on the early game portion that takes place in the city of Midgar. It’s coming to PlayStation 4 and rated T for teen.
