Fantasy Strike, an upcoming fighting game that is currently being crowdfunded, has launched a free demo that will be available for a limited time only. Originally scheduled to be open from the 28th to the 30th, the demo has since been extended to Monday the 31st. The finished game is set to release sometime late in 2018 for PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4.

Sirlin Games, the studio behind Fantasy Strike, are known for their addition to the Street Fighter series, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Their latest title is a video game adaptation of a tabletop game they previously created. Right now, Sirlin Games is running a campaign to finance Fantasy Strike through Fig, a platform that lets backers invest in different projects. Since Fantasy Strike is still a work in progress, players of the demo will have access to a pre-alpha build of the game that is a ways off from being complete.

Even so, players will be able to try out eight different characters and four playable stages in the demo. The featured modes include local versus, online competitive quick match, arcade, and a training mode. All of this content will be available during the free period which ends at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on July 31st. Anyone interested in jumping in before then can check out the official download links here.
