Today is the 20th anniversary of PlayStation’s American debut, and—of course—PlayStation is celebrating the occasion with a PlayStation Store sale. More than 120 games are available on discount. And, if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you will receive an additional 10% off any of the participating titles.
There are some pretty good games for sale, though the bulk of them are only available for PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita. Helpfully, you can sort by console, ESRB rating and genre. There are a lot of popular and classic M-rated games like Persona 4 Golden (for PlayStation Vita only), Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition, Dragon Age: Origins, BioShock, several from the Call of Duty franchise, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the original Prince of Persia, Far Cry 3, Resident Evil 4, and Saints Row IV, among others.
PlayStation 4 M-rated offerings include the PS4 version of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Digital Pro Edition, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Rocksmith 2014 Edition, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, Metro: Last Light Redux, and Knack.
More notable teen- and tween-friendly games on sale are Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (for PS4) and Guacamelee! (for PS3), Beyond Good and Evil HD, Jak and Daxter Collection, and Ōkami. LocoRoco and Patapon are available for PS Vita and are both rated E for Everyone.
You’ll be able to pick up the on-sale games from now until next Wednesday, September 14. This is only the anniversary of the American PlayStation debut, of course—PlayStation has been out in Japan since December 3, 1994. That anniversary was celebrated with a special edition 20th anniversary PlayStation 4, outfitted with PlayStation’s original color scheme.
