Disney Interactive has released some great new stuff from Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic, one of its new Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Play Sets. This is a family-friendly Star Wars game! There aren’t many out there, and everyone knows kids love Star Wars.
This particular Play Set takes place in the latter years of the Clone Wars. Players will be able to travel to four different open-world locations: Tatooine, Coruscant, Geonosis, and Naboo. They’ll play as and battle enemies alongside popular established characters like Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan, and Yoda. Each character has special Force and Lightsaber skills.
Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition—rated E10+—is slated to come out this fall, and will resemble the previous Disney Infinity games (1.0 and 2.0). The Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set will be included in the Starter Pack for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition along with the Base, character toys for Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker, and a web code card that unlocks extra content. The Starter Pack costs $64.99, but it sounds like it’s probably a reasonable amount of goods for the price.
Disney Infinity is a Toys to Life game, meaning that players collect figurines with NFC (Near Field Communications) chips inside, place them on a Base (or some type of NFC reader), and see them come to life on the screen. Skylanders are another popular franchise, and Disney Infinity is of course Disney’s version.
