Blizzard Entertainment has released World of Warcraft: Forever, a new, updated version of the original World of Warcraft MMO, on PC.

WoW Forever resets the timeline back to the original 2004 era, just after the events of Warcraft III. However, unlike WoW Classic, which was a faithful recreation of the OG MMO, Forever takes the original and updates and expands every aspect. Players can explore three new areas and nine new dungeons with over 1,000 new quests as they journey from level 1 to 60.

Forever also adds an entirely new playable race, the Skyborne, via the optional premium Skyborne Heroic Pack. The Skyborne begin in their own beginning area of Zephras Isle, which runs from level 1 – 12. Skyborne players can choose at character creation to join the Horde or the Alliance. Additionally, Forever unlocks additional race and class combinations, such as Undead Paladins, Gnome Priests, and Orc Mages.

Modern conveniences include quest markets and guidance, transmogs that separate character appearance from equipment, new keyboard bindings, and full controller support. And players can support multiple characters with the Legacy System, unlocking perks by completing challenges and milestones across multiple characters.

WoW Forever promises to stay within the first age of the world, which sounds like no big world-shattering expansion packs.

World of Warcraft: Forever is included in the standard WoW subscription, which also includes access to World of Warcraft, and World of Warcraft Classic. The Warcraft Forever Collection also includes Warcraft III Reforged, and new expansion, Forsaken Kingdom, for $79.99.

World of Warcraft is rated T for Teen.
