Indie developer and publisher, Coffee Stain, hosted the first-ever Big Break Showcase. The indie-tastic event featured over 40 games, including several new game reveals, release date announcements, and delicious new demos.
Plus, it was legitimately funny and entertaining. Kudos to Coffee Stain for an enjoyable gaming showcase!
Coffee Stain themselves had several upcoming games to show off, including new DLC for Satisfactory and Goat Simulator 3, and a 1.0 release date for mech-suit farm sim, Lightyear Frontier (Nov 4). Lightyear Frontier is also currently 40% off through October 3 (Steam Early Access).
Neighbors: Suburban Warfare is a free-to-play multiplayer brawler with a silly suburban theme. Oh, and Satisfactory is also getting a board game from MOOD Publishing, coming to Gamefound on October 13.
Ghost Ship Publishing, of Deep Rock Galactic fame, also had several games to show off, including that spin-off auto-shooter, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, is coming to PlayStation and Switch. DRG is also getting a card game, Rock and Stone, coming to Kickstarter.
Dinolords is an action-RPG-meets-RTS that puts dinosaurs with medieval knights in large-scale battles (demo launching Oct 19), while FLASK is a dark fantasy deckbuilder featuring an intriguing art style.
The Big Break Showcase also featured many ‘Breaking Thru’ sections, highlighting smaller studios and new games. I loved the look (and name) of 2D fishing game, Fish ‘n Ships, the clever action-pinball-shooter, Appulse, cute creature-collecting RPG, Fae & Fauna, and miniaturized farm sim, Fourleaf Fields.
