During the Back to Hogwarts showcase, Warner Bros, TT Games, and the LEGO Group announced the LEGO Harry Potter Collection is coming to Switch 2 on October 16. The Harry Potter Collection includes LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, as well as all DLC packs for $49.99.
As you can probably guess, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 covers the first four films, while Years 5-7 takes players through the back half of the eight-film series based on the best-selling novels.
The games originally released in 2010 and 2011, and featured classic LEGO gameplay — before they added free roam and voice acting! Up to two players journeyed through linear levels based on scenes from the films, battling monsters, casting spells, mixing potions, and exploring the areas for those sweet, sweet studs.
Unfortunately for fans, Harry Potter isn’t getting the fancy remake treatment that the LEGO Star Wars games received a few years ago courtesy of the Skywalker Saga. More modern LEGO games, such as LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, have completely spoiled me on what to expect with big original stories, open worlds, skill trees, advanced combat, and optional difficulty levels.
To further add insult to injury, the “physical” edition of the game will only include a key card for both games.
LEGO Harry Potter Collection originally released in 2016, and is also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. It’s rated E10+.
