Children’s entertainment company Spin Master announced a collaboration with #1 New York Times Bestselling Author and Illustrator Mo Willems and his company, Hidden Pigeon Company. The co-branded collaboration will bring Willems’ beloved characters to life across Spin Master’s interactive toys and digital gaming apps.
Spin Master owns several popular children’s gaming apps, including Toca Boca and Piknik, available on Windows PC and mobile devices.
Piggie & Gerald, The Pigeon, and Knuffle Bunny will first arrive via the Piknik app bundle, which includes Sago Mini World, Sago Mini School, and Crayon Club, beginning on March 12. Children will be able to interact with the characters through coloring and read-aloud stories.
“Mo Willems’ characters have a playful spirit and emotional honesty that align beautifully with the kind of open-ended, curiosity-driven play Sago Mini is known for,” said Marc DeVellis, Spin Master’s President, Digital Games. “Through this collaboration, we’re extending the fun into digital experiences that invite kids to explore, laugh, and let their imaginations run wild.”
Later this fall, the characters of the Hidden Pigeon Company will arrive as Melissa & Doug wooden toys, including the Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus Wooden Playset. For a softer turn, the characters will be added as premium plushies under the GUND brand.
My kids are enormous fans of The Pigeon books, as well as Piggie & Gerald (I think the book series is called Elephant & Piggie, but they’re Piggie & Gerald in our house!). The stories are funny, easy-to-read graphic novels with razor-sharp wit. We always have a great time reading them.
To date, Mo Willems’ books have sold over 34 million copies, and feature over 50 New York Times bestsellers.
Spin Master is one of the biggest children’s entertainment companies around the world, with brands such as Paw Patrol and Rubik’s Cube, as well as digital gaming apps such as Toca Boca.
