Sony hosted their semi-annual PlayStation State of Play for the first half of 2026, showcasing upcoming games such as 007: First Light, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and Pragmata.

Many of these games had been previously announced, but the State of Play geatured new trailers, and several new game announcements.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is the newly announced sequel to 2021’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits. The Spirit Guide’s journeys continue to a new mysterious island, where she’ll discover special spirit companions who grow over time. It’s launching later this year on PC and PlayStation 5.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is an old-school 2D Castlevania game with a modern art style. Fans of Dead Cells (and who isn’t!?) will be interest to know that developer Motion Twin is working with Konami on this new action-platformer.

Control Resonant is the more action-focused sequel to Control, featuring a new protagonist with special powers and a shapeshifting weapon, as he explores the West Incursion Zone.

It’s been a long time coming, but the original God of War trilogy is getting a remake. It’s still in early development, and going to just miss the series’ 20th anniversary. God of War is also getting a surprise 2D action-platformer called Sons of Sparta, which is out now on PlayStation 5.

Saber Interactive announced a new video game based on the John Wick movie franchise. The game represents a “previously unseen chapter in the life of John Wick.” The violent action game promises to replicate the gun-fu action of the movies. A release date (and official title) have yet to be announced.

Project Windless certainly received the most reactions from the live chat: a fantasy, open-world, action-RPG starring an anthropomorphic chicken! It’s apparently based on a Korean series, and the game will put players in the shoes (talons?) of the race of warrior birds, the Rekons.

Konami has been quite busy since re-entering the non-mobile gaming space just a few years ago. Aside from the new 2D Castlevania, the veteran gaming company announced their new anime-infused JRPG, Rev.Noir, and a new entry in the horror-action franchise, Silent Hill: Townfall.

Finally, the Rayman platformer series is still celebrating its 30th anniversary, and the State of Play revealed the Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, launching on PlayStation 5 today! This new edition features over 100 additional levels, a reimagined soundtrack, optional enhanced gameplay features, and an interactive documentary. A physical edition is launching later this Summer.
