Fantasy Finds expands Two Point Museum with a new expedition map full of dozens of exhibits, supported by a new type of Expert. It’s a great expansion with a fun Fantasy-theme, though it’s oddly missing a specific museum that supports the new content.

Gather Your Party
As Fantasy Finds doesn’t include its own museum, players can start exploring the DLC whenever they want, though playing any of their existing (or new) museums. The new Scorched Earth map requires Fantasy Experts. Fantasy Experts won’t show up in the hiring pool unless specifically advertised, making them a bit more of an investment.
Unlike other Experts, Fantasy Experts have an associated class. Classes are inspired by classic RPGs, such as Bard, Barbarian, and Wizard, and include familiar stats such as Strength and Dexterity.
Each Point of Interest in Scorched Earth requires certain amounts of these stats among the outgoing party in order to counter the many illnesses, injuries, or even the dreaded MIA events. Just like an RPG, Experts can increase their stats after leveling up, and craft potions to help temporarily boost their stats. Thankfully, there are plenty of opportunities to get extra experience, including class-specific sites.
The new exhibits are a fun mix of fairy tale, medieval, and fantasy, from dwarven forges to mimic chests. Plus, nifty Mythical Gear that curators can choose to equip to staff for extra benefits (the speedy winged boots running animation is always hilarious). The new decorations encourage building dungeons and castles to display them. And new fantasy guest types (dwarves, elves, and goblins) will be drawn to these new exhibits.
Unlocking new Points of Interest are fun objectives, and the map is at least as large as Bone Belt, with plenty of crossover uses for other Experts such as Botany and Marine.
I was also impressed with some neat new interactive elements. Found geodes can be cracked open after collecting the right dwarven devices (similar to Astral Anomalies in the Space theme exhibits). And I was genuinely shocked when a big event on the map forced me to make a major change to one of the Points of Interest. Not to mention the aforementioned equippable Mythic Gear — a touch choice between a nice exhibit, or a permanent upgrade to a staff member.
Two Pointy Mountains
Fantasy Finds is missing one big feature — a new museum! Instead, the DLC launched alongside Two Point Museum 4.0, which adds a sixth “finale” museum that unlocks after progressing far enough in the campaign.
A free map is great, though it’s odd that it has nothing to do with the DLC.
Pointy Mountains is a large, remote, snowy map that ratchets up the challenge. Players begin with literally zero money or exhibits to start, and only allowing Yeti guests until reaching at least one star.
As a veteran curator with dozens of hours in Two Point Museum, I’ve been enjoying the extra challenge of Pointy Mountains, its huge buildable area, and the star-objectives that encourage building a big, diverse museum. But going after Fantasy stuff to soon is terrible, as they require a large investment of leveled up Fantasy Experts, and expensive potions. Instead, I’ve been forced to begin with Prehistory to get things going.
I’m not forced to use Pointy Mountains with the DLC, however. Thanks to Two Point Museum’s clever interlocking campaign and shared expedition progress, there’s no limit to which museum maps can utilize the new content. Progress on the Scorched Earth map carries over between museums like any other expedition — though Experts do not. Once you choose a museum to start exploring, it’s a good idea to continue with your well-leveled party to slay the dragon, crack the geodes, and discover mythical gear.
Overall, Fantasy Finds has helped reignite my love of one of the year’s best games, and one of my favorite management sims. I’m disappointed we didn’t get a more fantasy-appropriate museum map, or at least a new challenge museum. But the base game already has so much content, I’m more than happy returning to older museums to add fantastical new finds.
Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds is available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s launching on Switch 2 later this year.
