Gameloft’s free-to-play kart racer Disney Speedstorm has entered its 14th season with a new Toy Story theme. No Toys Get Left Behind adds three new racers from the Toy Story universe, new seasonal events, and an iconic Disney duo.
The three new Toy Story racers are Forky, Lotso, and Emperor Zurg.
Forky is a Defender who carries attack-absorbing trash pieces, and can launch himself at opponents.
As a Trickster, Lotso slows other racers with his big hugs, and shouts at them to give himself a speed boost.
Emperor Zurg is a Brawler, stunning opponents by firing foam balls, and gaining a permanent speed boost.
Forky is unlockable for free via the Season Tour, while Zurg and Lotso are restricted to the premium tier of the Golden Pass ($9.99).
As a consolation, players will be able to unlock Toy Story heroes Buzz Lightyear and Bo Peep from the free tier of the Golden Pass.
Also joining the roster are two of my favorite Disney characters, Chip and Dale! Both heroes are inspired by their popular Rescue Rangers personas. Chip (Defender) collects clues during a race to gain speed boosts, and uses Zipper to harass opponents. Dale (Brawler) can collect and throw acorns from powerup boxes, and the Rescue Rangers plane.
Season 14 introduces Tales as the new limited-time event format. By completing Tales, players progress through milestones and unlock seasonal rewards, as well as compete in online leaderboards.
In addition to every other platform (including mobile), Disney Speedstorm is also officially supports Nintendo Switch with the new update. The Switch 2 version raises the FPS to 60 and features better shaders and overall polish. See the full Season 14 patch notes here.
