If you’ve been eyeing some quality city building sims, now’s the time to open that wallet. Steam is hosting its next Steam Fest this week with the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest. From now through March 31, city planners and village organizers can save on hundreds of quality strategy sim games.

While Cities Skylines 2’s still-dubious rating puts a stain on the modern urban city builder, the fantasy or medieval colony sim has really exploded in the last several years.

Timberborn (30% off) is a sim where sentient beavers build clever infrastructure alongside nature, in a post-human world.

Foundation (25% off) recently hit 1.0, offering a more free-form, grid-less building experience, including custom castles.

Manor Lords (30% off), features realistic graphics, complex social simulation, changing seasons, and tactical warfare.

And catch up on genre classics, such as emotional survival city builder Frostpunk (85% off), world simulator Dwarf Fortress (20% off), sci-fi colony sim RimWorld (20% off), and even the uber-classic city builder, SimCity 4 (75% off).

Steam Fests are also a great time to try out new demos for interesting games. City builder demos include dotAGE, Sintopia, Cataclismo, Foundation, City Tales – Medieval Era, and The King is Watching.

I’m particularly intrigued by colony sims that add elements of RPGs and exploration, such as Dungeons & Kingdoms, and Edge Islands.

As with other Steam Fests, Steam users can claim a free profile frame, animated avatar, and sticker, themed around building.

The Steam City Builder & Colony Sim Fest ends March 31 at 10am Pacific/1pm Eastern.
