WSS Playground has released a typing-game spinoff of Needy Streamer Overload on Steam. Needy Streamer Overlord: Typing of the Net is available now with a 10% launch discount ($7.19).
Typing of the Net stars Needy Streamer Overlord’s titular streamer, OMGkawaiiAngel. Players play as her biggest fans trying to garner attention in her live chat by repeating internet phrases, words, and memes.
The game features over 200 slang terms, including brief little descriptions of each when you type them out. Some of them make me, an aging millennial, feel old, and others make me feel extremely old. The included phrases cover the last 20 or so years, encompassing both millennial and Gen-Z generations of online etymology.
But hey, it’s educational! Especially if you have Gen-Z kids who walk into every room shouting, “What’s good my skibbidi slicers?”
It’s a short game, and features multiple difficulty levels and scoring.
The developer also announced an Internet Angel Pack that includes the original game and Typing of the Net, along with a digital art book, two soundtracks, and spinoff minigame Petit Game Collection vol. 1.
Note that despite its cutesy appearance, the original Needy Streamer Overload is rated M for Mature. The visual novel includes very serious material such as addiction, depression, and self harm. Steam users have rated Psychological Horror as its primary tag.
