The recently announced Carmen Sandiego video game has a release date, as announced by Gameloft and Harper Collins Productions. Carmen Sandiego will release digitally on March 4 on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox consoles.

Mobile platforms will get access over a month earlier, courtesy of Netflix. Carmen Sandiego will release on the Games section of Netflix on January 28, exclusively for subscribers.

Netflix successfully rebooted the classic 90s kids series into an excellent animated series.

The game is based on the new animated series, which re-imagines the titular character as a heroic vigilante who uses her skills and guile to thwart the thieving organization who raised her. The fun animates series maintains the nod to Carmen Sandiego as an international show that helped teach geography to young viewers.

In addition to the standard edition ($29.99), Carmen Sandiego also comes in a Digital Deluxe Edition ($49.99), which includes digital soundtrack, art book, and special anniversary caper. Fans can pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition for a 20% discount ($39.99).

As this year marks Carmen Sandiego’s 40th anniversary, the game is getting a special Physical Edition ($49.99). The 40th Anniversary Physical Edition includes a poster map, stickers, and all the digital goodies found in the Deluxe Digital Content. The Physical Edition will release on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in mid-April.

Gameloft is also hosting a community wishlist challenge on Steam, with rewards if certain milestones are reached.

Carmen Sandiego has not yet been rated (but should be around E10+).
