PM Studios and Pathea Games have updated life sim My Time at Sandrock with cross-platform online multiplayer for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Players can now play together across all PC and console platforms.
Multiplayer in Sandrock works differently than most other games. It’s an entirely separate game mode that lacks the quests and storytelling of the single player experience. It’s basically a sandbox version of Sandrock that supports to up to four players in a shared world.
On consoles, it’s actually an entirely separate game, called My Time at Sandrock Online, though owners of the singleplayer game should receive a code to receive the online version. Online codes can be redeemed at the official website.
“True cross-platform multiplayer co-op is something that we’ve always wanted to offer our fans,” said Xu Zhi, director, Pathea. “We’re thrilled that everyone can now play together, regardless of their preferred platform. Gather your friends and family and jump into the action!”
There is a delay on codes from physical versions. Per the update, “We are currently investigating the situation and will be able to provide an update on what’s happening in January. Codes will be coming soon for owners of the physical versions.”
My Time at Sandrock is the sequel to My Time at Portia. It’s an open world life sim with dozens of NPCs, third-person combat, farming, tools, crafting, customization, and more.
A third game in the series, My Time at Evershine, was recently funded on Kickstarter, and promises a more robust multiplayer mode.
My Time at Sandrock is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated E10+.
