Time to party like its 2017 with the release of Fortnite OG. Fortnite OG strips years worth of ongoing content and seasons back to the beginning, letting players experience (and re-experience) the uber-popular online game from the very beginning, with Season 1.

Going back to Season 1 means all the original loot, original locations, and original gameplay. There are a few quality of life improvements, such as improved building mechanics and being able to heal and travel at the same time. But the original Season 1 map circa 2017 has been faithfully restored, and dripping with nostalgia for old-school fans.

Fortnite OG supports Solo and Squad queues, though Ranked is still coming soon.

I can’t believe it’s been seven years already. I remember covering Fortnite back in 2017, during the early days of the Battle Royale craze.

The Fortnite OG Pass is new, however, offering 45 tiers of familiar rewards with new twists. The Chapter 1 – Season 1 OG Pass can be progressed by playing any mode in Fortnite.

Like World of Warcraft Classic, Fortnite OG isn’t content to remain frozen in time. Fortnite OG will run through each season of Chapter 1, recreating all the loot additions and gameplay features. Fortnite OG Seasons will be a bit shorter than the main game. Chapter 1 – Season 1 will run through January 31, 2025.

Fortnite is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and mobile platforms. It’s rated T for Teen.
