Artax Games and edutainment developer Didactoons have released educational-adventure Glitch Hero on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox ($11.99).

Glitch Hero stars Ada, a young girl who becomes trapped in her father’s digital world: Tron Legacy!

Er no, wait, Codeland!

Like a lot of digital works in progress, Codeland is full of bugs. Armed with the Hammer.exe and a helpful AI bunny, Ada must solve puzzles and squash bugs to restore Codeland.

The digital world features three biomes across 10+ levels, and a colorful 2D art style. Ada can upgrade her skills to reach new areas and defeat tougher enemies. Players will also learn about proper coding skills to proceed, such as using blocks to learn about loops and functions.

Plus, all the characters in the world use programming terms and jargon.

I hesitate to even call Glitch Hero an educational game, because most of still us roll our eyes at “educational games.” Glitch Hero looks like a fun game, aimed at younger kids (including pre-k), that’s also educational.

Glitch Hero is also available as free-to-play with in-app purchases on Android and iOS mobile devices. It’s rated E for Everyone with Mild Fantasy Violence.
