Disney Speedstorm is adding its newest racer as a mid-Season 9 update: Maleficent, iconic villain from Sleeping Beauty.

Maleficent pulls up in her slick-black roadster as a Trickster class racer.

Her unique ability, Mistress of Evil, summons lighting bolts from her staff, stunning racers in front of her. Stunned racers grant her one flame. When she reaches six flame stacks, she can charge the skill to transform into her climactic dragon form. Her dragon form literally makes her an invulnerable flying dragon who autopilots over the track and breathes fire on any racers her way. Dang!

Maleficent, her kart, and her abilities look amazing, which means she’s going to cost a pretty penny, and no doubt be difficult to obtain for free-to-play players (see also, Cruella, a similar fan-favorite villain).

Season 9 is still running the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, and recently added Barbossa, Davy Jones, Tia Dalma, and Will Turner (joining Captain Jack and Elizabeth Swan). The season also added lots of new crew members from the series, as well as a new pirate-y race environment.

Disney Speedstorm is a Mario Kart-like racing game starring Disney characters. It’s a live-service game with frequent updates and seasons, battle passes, and microtransactions. It’s available on PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and mobile platforms, and rated E for Everyone.
