The decade-and-a-half old MMORPG Wizard101 is finally launching on consoles, though an official release date has not yet been announced. Wizard101 is coming soon to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 (via PS4 compatibility), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S (XBO compatibility), and Nintendo Switch.

The console version will feature crossplay with other console players, though apparently not with PC players.

In Wizard101, players join the Ravenwood School of Magical Arts as young spellcasting students. Players explore the world of the Spiral and defeat foes using spells and card-based combat. Outside of battle, players can garden and fish, craft new gear, train pets, and decorate their castle.

Over its impressively long life span, Wizard101 has added countless updates and several big expansions. The Spiral features 20 worlds to explore and weekly limited-time events.

Wizard101 is free-to-play with limited features and worlds. A paid subscription plan is necessary to unlock everything, including various bonuses. Alternatively, premium currency (Crowns) can be purchased to unlock individual zones and other locked content.

Despite its age, the old-school MMORPG remains a popular choice for kids and nostalgic adults seeking an online game.

Wizard101 is currently available on PC, through Steam and its own client. It’s rated E10+ with Crude Humor and Mild Fantasy Violence.
