Nonprofit charity organization Hope for the Warriors (HOPE) is hosting their first virtual, interactive fundraiser via a live streaming Dungeons & Dragons game.

Hope for the Warriors Dungeons & Dragons will stream February 15 beginning at 4:30pm Pacific/7:30pm Eastern.

Here’s the official description of the event:

Embark on an exhilarating journey into the heart of the untamed jungle with ‘The Wild Shapes!’ A literal rat pack of shape-shifting druids, they’re on a high-stakes mission to retrieve the legendary Heart of Lhasuaria. Alongside fierce rival teams and amidst the relentless dangers of dinosaurs and mythical beasts, they’ll uncover cryptic clues, navigate treacherous terrain, and engage in epic battles, all while deciding the fate of a power that could reshape the very essence of the jungle itself. Will they tame the wild magic, or will chaos reign supreme?

The HOPE D&D team has been playing virtually together since 2020. D&D is used as a therapeutic outlet for service members, utilizing problem-solving skills, leadership, and planning.

“When we started the Hope For The Warriors Dungeon & Dragons team during the pandemic it was thanks to two staff members that saw a unique way to connect with service members and veterans during a very isolating time,” said Robin Kelleher, Co-founder and CEO. “We love that this comradery has continued post-pandemic and are really excited about the team’s desire to help raise awareness and funds for the programs that we provide to military families across the U.S.”

“I have been involved with HOPE for about two years now,” said Chris, U.S. Army veteran who served for eight years. “I used to play D&D in high school and college but got away from it for a while. Shortly before COVID hit in 2020, a friend told me about a group where some of his friends from the Iowa National Guard were getting started in partnership with HOPE. The time playing D&D has been something I look forward to playing each week.”

Fans can donate during the stream to provide in-game perks, including re-rolls, magic items, or even name an NPC.

Hope for the Warriors is a nonprofit that serves veterans and military families through educational, career, and financial assistance, as well as emotional strength and stability since 2006.
