Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is out next week on January 18, but everyone can jump in a bit early with the release of the demo. The free demo is available now on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.

The demo includes “carefully selected sections from the game,” as well as a chance to test out the earliest Time Powers and amulets, without spoiling the main story.

The Lost Crown is a 2.5D sidescrolling action-platformer, also known as Metroidvania. The heroic Sargon uses his dexterity, twin blades, and newfound time powers to defeat enemies and survive a cursed city inspired by Persian mythology.

Sargon can use his time powers to teleport and dash through battle, as well as to travel the world. By finding hidden Time Crystals, Sargon can upgrade his weapons and abilities.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be available in standard and deluxe editions. The Deluxe Edition includes an outfit, a treasure-finding amulet, and a digital adventure guide, as well as a 3-day head start before launch. All pre-orders of either edition will also receive a special outfit inspired by Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

The Prince of Persia series was once popular in the 2000s as 3D action games, but the series has been mostly dormant in the last decade.

The Lost Crown will release on January 18. It’s rated T for Teen.
