Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios have launched Immortals of Aveum through the EA Originals publishing label. Immortals of Aveum is available on PC (EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Immortals of Aveum is a first-person action game in a high-magic world. After discovering he has magic powers, protagonist Jak is recruited into an elite order of battlemages known as Immortals. The Immortals battle in the Everwar against the evil warlord Sandrakk.

Throughout the story, Jak will learn to wield and master 25 unique spells across three colors of magic, and weave them into combos and counters. Jak can choose from over 80 talents to further customize his playstyle and ability pool.

Aveum is an original fantasy world with a dozen different biomes, including snowy peaks and lava caves, as well as side quests, extra boss fights, and puzzles.

“I founded Ascendant Studios with the goal of creating a first-person magic shooter that makes you feel like a powerful battlemage,” said Bret Robbins, CEO and game director, Ascendant Studios. “We built a world-class team, learned Unreal Engine 5, and created an amazing combat system and story from scratch – all through the adversity of Covid. It’s been the best experience of my professional life. With the help of our partners at EA Originals, we’ve been able to make our dreams come true and transform this wild idea into reality. We hope you love it!”

Immortals of Aveum is available now in standard and Deluxe Editions. The Deluxe Edition ($69.99 on PC, $79,99 on console) includes several in-game pieces of loot. It’s rated M for Mature.
