Gearbox Publishing and Gunfire Games have released Remnant 2 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S ($49.99).

Remnant 2 is a third-person action-survival shooter, and the sequel to 2019’s Remnant: From the Ashes. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic Earth ravaged by monstrously evil forces.

Thankfully you don’t have to go it alone. Remnant combines challenging, Soulslike combat with co-op gameplay for up to three players.

The updated archetype system expands the classes into more distinctive roles and unique abilities, including being able to dual-class later in the game, and equip a variety of guns, augmentations, and armor, creating personalized loadouts.

The biggest change in the sequel is the level design. Every playthrough features a dynamically-generated world, constructing different levels from combinations of locations, enemies, quests, NPCs, and boss encounters.

“Gunfire Games strives to craft games that we, as fans of video games, are excited to play,” said David Adams, Gunfire Games. “We are proud of what we have been able to accomplish with Remnant 2 in its immersive world design, engaging encounters, and broad range of unique Archetypes to play as. We are also very thankful for all the fans who have followed us from Remnant: From the Ashes, and welcome new fans into the world of Remnant.”

In addition to a Standard edition, Remnant 2 also comes in Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.

The Deluxe Edition ($59.99) includes free armor sets from Remnant: From the Ashes.

The Ultimate Edition ($69.99) also includes a Survival Pack with in-game goodies, and the DLC bundle, which will include three yet-to-be-revealed DLC packs.

Remnant 2 is rated M for Mature.
