Plaion and Milestone have released a new trailer for Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, showcasing new content coming in the sequel.
Turbocharged adds five new racing environments (with each environment featuring multiple tracks): Arcade, Backyard, Mini Golf, Museum, and Gas Station. An empty Track Room is also available for building custom tracks in a neutral space.
New tracks could take place indoors, or outdoors, or transition between both, creating different track surfaces and handling for vehicles.
The sequel also adds a bucket-load of new cars, for a total of 130 Hot Wheels cars, including the new addition of ATVs and motorcycles. Cars come in several categories that define their stats, such as Swift, Rocket, and Heavy-Duty.
Racers will have access to two new abilities while driving: jump, and lateral dash. With good timing, jump (and double jump) grant a better chance at overtaking opponents or avoiding obstacles. Drivers can use Lateral Dash to crash into opponents, forcing them out of bounds or into obstacles.
Players can also unlock skills in the new skill tree across three different aspects, such as better boosts or improved handling.
“On top of their expertise with racing games, Milestone’s unique ability to understand the Hot Wheels brand was the key ingredient in making Hot Wheels Unleashed such a success,” said Mike DeLaet, Global Head of Digital Gaming, Mattel. “With Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, Milestone has taken gameplay, customization, graphics, and more to the next level, all while elevating the authentic Hot Wheels experience that remains the wondrous heart of this series.”
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged will release on October 19 on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated E for Everyone.
