Milestone and Mattel have announced Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, the sequel to 2021’s Hot Wheels Unleashed, will release on October 19 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.

The toy racing sequel will launch with over 130 vehicles, including the new addition of motorbikes and ATVs, as well as five environments. More diverse environments feature unique racing surfaces to provide different challenges.

Unleashed 2 will also add two new ways to maneuver on the race track: dash and jump. Lateral dashing helps avoid hazards, or bash into opponents. Jumps can help reach shortcuts or overtake pesky rivals.

The sequel also adds a new career mode that focuses more on story, with animated cutscenes and four original characters. And thankfully, two-player split-screen is making a return, along with the addition of cross-play (except for Switch, darn).

“We are truly delighted with the enthusiasm shown by the press and players toward the first title, a global success that reached more than 8 million players worldwide,” said Luisa Bixio, CEO, Milestone. “Building on the solid foundation that granted us unanimous acclaim, with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged we decided to create a brand-new gaming experience to raise the bar of arcade fun even higher. Having a partner like Mattel by our side is a great reason to be proud, and we are ready to race even faster toward new shared goals.”

Hot Wheels Unleashed is rated E for Everyone.
