Nintendo continues making the Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions more lucrative. Subscribers can now enjoy select Game Boy games, and with the Expansion Pack, Game Boy Advance games as part of their subscription.

Here’s the initial lineup:

Game Boy (for Nintendo Switch Online)

  • Tetris
  • Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
  • Gargoyle’s Quest
  • Game & Watch Gallery 3
  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
  • Metroid II: Return of Samus
  • Wario Land 3
  • Kirby’s Dream Land

Game Boy games can use original, Pocket, or Color screen filters to recreate the different platforms. Up to two players can enjoy the multiplayer titles online for the first time.

Game Boy Advance (for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack)

  • Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
  • Kuru Kuru Kururin
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Up to four players can play multiplayer compatible GBA games online for the first time, such as with Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

Tetris, Mario Land, and Zelda are great adds. Notably missing are, well, all the Pokémon games from those early generations. However, a teaser image reveals future games being added, such as The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Ages, and for GBA: Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion, and Golden Sun.

A regular Nintendo Switch Online membership unlocks online play, and includes select NES, SNES, and Game Boy games, for $19.99 a year for individuals.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is more expensive ($49.99/year), and adds Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Advance games, as well as expansion content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8.
