During The Game Awards 2022, indie developer Airship Syndicate (Battle Chasers: Nightwar) revealed a trailer for their next project. Wayfinder is a free-to-play, online action-RPG based on an original IP, coming to PC and consoles in 2023.

In the fantasy world of Evenor, the Wayfinders are heroic adventurers beating back an oppressive, decaying force called the Gloom. Wielding special Gloom Daggers, Wayfinders adventure into dungeons called Lost Zones to clear the Gloom — and to acquire sweet loot and experience.

The Gloom Dagger isn’t just for show, it’s a tool players can use to tweak their dungeon crawling experience. Players can choose different settings such as number and types of enemies, and resource drop rate to finetune their gameplay.

Wayfinder will feature character and ability unlocks, weapon and gear crafting, a customizable apartment, social interactions, and ongoing updates and events.

“This is the game we’ve always wanted to make, and we finally found the right partner in Digital Extremes to make it real,” said Ryan Stefanelli, Creative Director and President, Airship Syndicate. “We can’t wait to get it in player’s hands, using their feedback and conversations to make it special. Especially in the upcoming tests!”

A closed beta test is going on now. Players can sign up at the official website to test the game on PC. In January 2023 the beta test will extend to PlayStation players.

Wayfinder is set to release in Fall 2023, with an Early Access release some time in the spring.
