A new Pokémon has been revealed for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Grafaiai, the Toxic Monkey Pokémon. Watch the fun cinematic trailer above, and the in-game trailer below.

Grafaiai is a Poison/Normal Type, and can be found with the Unburden or Poison Touch abilities.

According to the lore, Grafaiai is a nocturnal, ornery Pokémon who prefers to live alone, and often battles other Pokémon who cross its territory. It uses its toxic saliva as a ranged spit attack, and by coating its claws in immobilizing toxin.

Its saliva is also quite colorful, attracting prey with the paint-like colors. The painting theme makes it similar to Smeargle, but clearly not near as friendly!

Grafaiai joins the growing roster of confirmed new Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including Lechonk, Pawmi, and Fidough, as well as the three new Starter Pokémon.

The new Pokémon games are the first truly open world RPGs in the series, taking place in the new Paldea Region. The new legendary Pokémon act as all-terrain vehicles for exploring the region.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18 on Nintendo Switch. It’s rated E for Everyone.
