ReedPop and Penny Arcade have announced that annual gaming convention PAX West, as well as board gaming convention PAX Unplugged, will return to their respective convention centers this year.

PAX West 2022 will take place Friday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept 5 in the Seattle Convention Center. Single day and weekend badges will go on sale to the public beginning on Thursday, June 16 at 12 pm Pacific/3 pm Eastern.

Four-day badges cost $235. Individual day passes are $62 each.

PAX Unplugged 2022 returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia from Friday, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 4. Badges will go on sale later this summer.

Last year was the first time the PAX conventions returned in a post-pandemic world after a year of cancellations in 2020. PAX held strict restrictions for all attendees, exhibitors, and staff, including proof of vaccination and face covering requirements. This year is no different.

However, individual cities have their own mandates, and most have been dropped. Earlier this year, a volunteer PAX Enforcer died from COVID-19 exposure from PAX East 2022.

“We implore all attendees of PAX West and PAX Unplugged to follow all health and safety requirements at the shows,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade. “We’d also ask everyone to take all necessary precautions when outside the event–mask up in indoor settings, get tested alongside any travel or lodging partners, greet friends with elbow bumps or a wave, and please consult your doctor if you are at increased risk for illness or experience any symptoms.”

For more information on health policy, see the PAX West and PAX Unplugged websites.
