Published by 505 Games and developed by Australian indie developer Prideful Sloth, Grow: Song of the Evertree is described as “a world-crafting sandbox adventure with life management and exploration elements.” In other words, think Animal Crossing but within a larger, 3D world. It’s releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One on November 16, 2021, for $29.99.

In Grow you play as the last of the Everheart Alchemists, tasked with protecting and nurturing the Evertree. Create new worlds using alchemy, and explore caves, forests, deserts, and tundra. Catch bugs, fish, chat with townsfolk, and build up the town from a category of buildings and customizable items.

“We loved instilling a sense of peace in our players with Yonder, and we want to continue that feeling with Grow,” said Cheryl Vance, game designer, Prideful Sloth. “We wanted Alaria to be a place where the player feels welcomed. That the worlds they grow, and the towns they build, are unique and personal to them. That it becomes their own home away from home.”

Closed beta sign-ups are open now. If you add Grow to your Steam wishlist, the publisher and developer will work with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant real trees. Other stretch goals include adding a photo mode, and a Steam launch discount.

Grow: Song of the Evertree will launch on November 16. It’s rated E for Everyone.
