When the human race destroys the Demon King’s army, they leave behind a single, small skeleton. Too bad for them, Skul is a badass little warrior who can swap skulls for new powers in Skul: The Hero Slayer, out now on Steam PC.

Skul is a 2D action-roguelite set in a pixelated fantasy world, where you play as a typical baddie fighting a bunch of heroes and adventurers. Skul can gain new powers by finding and equipping skulls, combining up to two skulls at a time.

The game has been in Steam Early access since spring of last year, releasing as 1.0 this week. The 1.0 version adds chapters four and five, revamped skills, improved enemies, new maps, and more. Within the first four days of reaching 1.0, the game has sold over 100,000 copies, and reached over 40,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch.

“The 1.0 Launch has gone better than we could’ve ever imagined and we’re extremely grateful for that,” said Sang Woo Park, CEO of SouthPAW Games. “However, on the other hand, we’ve also identified a lot of areas for improvement and are closely monitoring our community’s feedback while we work hard to get an update out.”

Skul: The Hero Slayer is 20% off for the next ten days to celebrate the 1.0 launch.
