Omega Force and P-Studio have announced an action-RPG based on Persona 5. Persona 5 Strikers is modeled after the Dynasty Warrior series, starring the heroes from the big 2016 Atlus RPG. It’s launching on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on Feburary 23, 2021.

In Strikers the Phantom Thieves are back to face large-scale corruption occurring around six different Japanese cities. As in the RPG, they’ll need to delve into the metaverse to battle the personified corruption and evil that lurks within people, saving them, and the world.

Joker and his unique ability to wield multiple personas returns as the primary protagonist, supported by fellow thieves like Ryuji, Anne, and Morgana. Each character has their own skills, style, and persona abilities.

The combat system uses a special hybrid of the real-time action of the Warriors series with the turn-based tactical RPG battles of Persona. Battles are in real-time, but pause when issuing persona commands and abilities. Exploiting enemy weaknesses are key, resulting in all-out-attacks from the entire party.

Dynasty Warriors is a real-time action-RPG series that has featured several licensed spin-offs of other game series, including most recently Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Persona 5 Strikers is coming Feb. 23, 2021 on PS4 and Switch. It’s rated M for Mature.
