A Game of Thrones: The Board Game – Digital Edition is the video game based on the board game based on the George R. R. Martin’s beloved fantasy series. It’s available now on Steam (PC and Mac) for $19.99. During the first week of launch, it’s available at a 20% discount.

In A Game of Thrones: The Board Game, players choose one of the six Great Houses of Westeros: Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Greyjoy, Tyrell, and Martell. Over the course of 10 rounds, players muster their armies, invade territory, siege castles, and cross oceans.

In true keeping with A Game of Thrones, players are free to make temporary alliances, and betray their allies. The planning phase is kept secret, so you never quite know what your neighbors are up to each round.

Additionally, players also bid over three different influence tracks: the Iron Throne, Valyrian Steel, and The King’s Court, each bestowing specific powers and abilities to the winners. And while everyone’s battling in the south, the Night’s Watch keeps vigil in the north, repelling the wildlings. Players will need to bid to send forces to help defend, or suffer the consequences.

The Digital Edition features up to six players online with Elo-based ranked mode. It also supports any combination of up to five AI opponents. It’s developed by Dire Wolf Digital, who have developed an impressive resume of excellent digital board game adaptations, including Raiders of the North Sea, Sagrada, and Root.
