Amazon has released the first three episodes of Starfinder, an episodic audio adventure for Alexa-enabled devices such as Amazon Echo and Fire TV.

The pilot is free to play, while additional episodes can be purchased for $1.99 each, or the full season for $9.99.

In Starfinder, players are transported to a science-fantasy setting (think Star Wars). They’ll go on heroic adventures and make important decisions using only their voice.

The sci-fi adventure is based on the tabletop RPG by Paizo. It launched in 2017 as a sci-fi spin-off of their popular Pathfinder RPG, itself a popular alternative to Dungeons & Dragons. Experience with the tabletop RPG isn’t required, though fans will recognize familiar locations and creatures.

The audio adventure features 13 voice actors, including prolific actors Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Uncharted) and Laura Bailey (Avengers Assemble, The Last of Us Part 2). The full six episode script is over 745 pages, resulting in up to 13 hours of gameplay.

“The Starfinder skill for Alexa is a great example of how audio and voice-enabled experiences can create immersive and ambient entertainment,” said Marc Whitten, VP of Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services. “We are thrilled with how incredible sci-fi storytellers and amazing voice talent bring this interactive adventure to life.”

Anyone with an Alexa mobile device can start the adventure by saying, “Alexa, play the Starfinder game,” to begin the free pilot episode, “Scoundrels in the Spike.” Episodes one to three are available now for $1.99 each. Episodes four through six are due to release in October. The full adventure can be purchased for the slightly discounted price of $9.99.
