Overwatch’s tenth post-launch hero (and 32nd hero overall) has been officially added to the public test server. Echo is an adaptive AI robot who can mimic other characters using her Duplicate ultimate ability. She will also most likely be the last character added before the launch of Overwatch 2.

Echo is a damage class character with a two out of three star difficulty rating. Her primary attack fires three shots in a triangle pattern, while her alt-fire releases a volley of sticky bombs that detonate after a few seconds. Echo possess a limited form of flight to quickly surge ahead and glide slowly to the ground. Her Focusing Beam takes a few seconds to channel, but does a lot of damage to wounded heroes who have less than half their health.

Her ultimate, Duplicate, is a real game-changer. By targeting another hero, Echo transforms into them, including being able to use their abilities – and ultimate ability.

“Echo is a really special character for us in that our players have known about her for a very long time,” said Overwatch’s Game Director Jeff Kaplan.“Players had actually seen Echo in earlier versions of the artwork for Overwatch. She was featured in the “Reunion” cinematic, where McCree frees her from the Deadlock Gang.”

Echo is currently available for testing in the public test realm. She should arrive publicly in the next week or two. Overwatch is available on PC (Battle.net), PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. It’s rated T for Teen.
