The E3 2019 press conferences are still currently ongoing as we head into the show itself. But many are declaring Microsoft the winner through sheer star power alone.

Directly following an impressive cinematic for Cyberpunk 2077 trailer (above), Keanu Reeves surprised the audience with an on-stage appearance. The actor confirmed he’s playing a character in CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG. The character looks like a cyberpunk version of John Wick.

Reeves also announced the release date for Cyberpunk 2077: April 16, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person open world RPG set in the future world of Night City. The main character, V, is fully customizable, from sex to clothing to body type and of course, cybernetic modifications. The world and gameplay is based on the tabletop RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

The game has been in development for a long time. It was originally announced in 2012, with the first teaser shown in 2013. Production ramped up following CD Projekt Red’s last release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, in 2015. It’s first major trailer and gameplay details were shown during last year’s E3, and won numerous Best of Show awards.

Pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077 are available now. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 16, 2020.
