Universal Games and Outright Games have released the first trailer for DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders. It’s a short teaser but does show off gameplay, including Skylanders-style puzzles and combat. Dawn of New Riders is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on February 15, 2019.

The game features an original story not based on any of the films and stars a new dragon-riding duo: Scribbler and Patch. The stars of the movies and animated series do make appearances as allies, including Hiccup and Toothless. Scribbler and Patch must work together to overcome enemies and obstacles, and players can switch between the two. Patch is a unique hybrid dragon called a chimeragon who can unlock new moves as Scribbler works to recover his lost memories.

The story will feature new locations as well as familiar places form the films, such as Havenholme and Valka’s Mountain. The duo will work to feat the new villain Eir, who can control dragons.

The anticipated third film in the series, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, will release in theaters on February 22, 2019.

DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders is scheduled to arrive on Feb 15, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. It has not yet been rated by the ESRB. The films are rated PG and the DreamWorks Dragons series is rated TV-Y7.
