Indie fighting game Brawlout is coming to PlayStation 4 August 21. To celebrate, indie developers Angry Mob Games have revealed the newest fighter to join the roster of indie game stars: Yooka-Laylee.

Yooka-Laylee refers to the indie 3D platformer that released last year. It was developed by former Rare developers at Playtonic Games after a successful Kickstarter campaign. It’s billed as a spiritual successor to Rare’s own Banjo-Kazooie series.

The new fighter is technically a tag-team duo. Yooka is the chameleon, and Laylee the bat. Their moveset in Brawlout compliments the gameplay from their platformer, with moves like Lizard Leap, Buddy Slam, and Sonar ‘Splosion.

Brawlout is described as a “party platform fighter” – think Super Smash Bros., but with original characters. Brawlout features six original character models, along with a bunch of variants for a total of 21 fightres. Several other indie guest stars have been previously added, including Juan from Guacamelee and the titular Hyper Light Drifter. It supports 2-4 players in a match through local and online multiplayer.

Brawlout is available for preorder on the PlayStation Store with a 10% discount. Pre-ordering includes a PS4 theme as well as two exclusive fighter skins: Mascot Feathers and Mighty Paco.

Brawlout released late last year on Nintendo Switch. It hits PlayStation 4 on August 21. It’s rated E for Everyone with Cartoon Violence.
